In May 2007 I travelled to New Zealand for what turned out to be a most wonderful trip. For two weeks I travelled the northern part of the South Island with my husband Ian. We had a fantastic time and Ian was very reluctant to return home to Australia after just 2 weeks.
Lucky me! I stayed on for another 8 days and joined a photographic tour of the South Island. This tour was organized by an extremely talented Kiwi photographer, Bevan Tulett. You can check out his work at http://www.gophoto.co.nz/ If you are planning a trip to NZ and want to do the South Island justice photographically I can't recommend Bevan highly enough.
We visited a few of the tourist hot spots for some amazing photo opportunities. Even better was viewing Bevan's secret locations where we were usually the only ones for miles. Being up well before dawn was never a problem and each evening it was so exciting viewing the hundreds of images captured throughout the day. With just 6 participants the comraderie was great and there was much laughter and friendship over a yummy evening meal.
I was so impressed with Bevan's tour that I am in the process of organizing another with him. This time it will be a customized 10 day Autumn tour in April of 2009. I can't wait and will share more images from that tour.
